The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) is an organization based in Pakistan that operates as a central buyer of electricity. It was established to facilitate the power market operations and procurement of electricity from various sources on behalf of the power distribution companies (DISCOs) in Pakistan.

The primary role of the CPPA is to procure electricity from different power generation companies, including thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources. It operates as a bulk electricity purchaser, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply of electricity to the distribution companies.

The CPPA is responsible for negotiating power purchase agreements (PPAs) with the generation companies and handling the financial settlements related to the purchase of electricity. It collects data on power generation, consumption, and billing from the DISCOs and carries out the settlement process among the market participants.
