The Federal Tax Ombudsman Secretariat is a government agency in Pakistan that provides a platform for taxpayers to file complaints against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and its affiliated departments. The secretariat was established in 2000 under the Federal Tax Ombudsman Ordinance, with the aim of promoting accountability, transparency, and fairness in the tax system.
The secretariat provides an alternative dispute resolution mechanism for taxpayers who have grievances against the FBR or its affiliated departments. It is empowered to investigate complaints, make recommendations, and facilitate the resolution of disputes between taxpayers and tax authorities. The Federal Tax Ombudsman Secretariat is an independent and impartial institution that is not subject to the control of any other authority or department.
